The 7th Cross Strait Renewable Energy Industry Cooperation and Exchange Conference between China and Taiwan was held in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia last week. It was mentioned in the conference that the cooperation plan for cross Strait renewable energy industry would be accelerated, and cooperation in financing platforms and alliances was planned. In addition, China's photovoltaic "leader" plan may be incorporated into Taiwan enterprises to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Liang Zhipeng, Deputy Director of the New Energy Department of the National Energy Administration of China, said at the meeting that the growth of renewable energy products and trade between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits is rapid. Many Taiwanese enterprises have invested in Chinese Mainland, and have also begun to carry out joint research, testing and certification cooperation on technical standards.
After Taiwan announced the Renewable Energy Development Regulations in 2009, Taiwan's renewable energy market has developed rapidly. At present, there are 2080MW hydropower, 630MW solar photovoltaic, 640MW wind power and 110MW biomass energy power. The growth rate of photovoltaic power generation is fast, with an increase of 600MW in five years. However, Taiwan's geographical environment has many restrictions on the development of renewable energy power generation. In addition to the instability of wind and solar power generation, it is still necessary to overcome the problem of unstable power supply. However, even so, Taiwan still raised the target of total installed capacity of renewable energy power generation in 2030 to 17250MW, accounting for more than 30% of the total power system; It includes 8700MW of solar PV and 4000MW of offshore wind power.
In contrast, the renewable energy in Chinese Mainland is developing rapidly, the installed capacity is growing fast, and the land is also very vast. Solar photovoltaic power generation is expected to reach 1000GW in 2050, and wind power generation can also reach 800-1000GW. Renewable energy will account for 86% of the total power generation.
Cross-Strait cooperation
Participants said that the cooperation between the two sides in renewable energy is highly complementary. In the future, we can integrate and help each other on the advantages of both sides to jointly promote the technological progress and industrial development of renewable energy. Liang Zhipeng specifically mentioned that China's "leader" plan recently launched may be included in Taiwan enterprises to jointly develop more advanced photovoltaic products.
At the same time, in the field of wind power generation, Lian Zhaozhi, the executive director of the New Business Promotion Center of Taiwan Dongyuan Group, said at the meeting that the two sides could consider cooperation "going to the sea" and cooperate globally, and also seek technical breakthroughs in offshore wind turbine technology on both sides. At present, the two sides have jointly edited the Yith wind power standard, Vertical Axis Wind Turbine, to help Taiwan's wind turbines enter the Chinese Mainland market.
Liang Zhipeng said that in the future, he might consider moving towards the direction of jointly establishing a renewable energy financing mechanism, including the possibility of cooperation between the two sides in credit, insurance and financing cooperation platforms.
